Background:
Human growth hormone (hGH) is a 191 amino acid polypeptide secreted by the pituitary gland in the brain. The hormone is critical for height increase and stature development before puberty, and is needed for maintaining healthy organ and vitality in adults. hGH inadequacy during childhood results in short stature and over secretion of hGH causes gigantism. hGH is regulated primarily by somatocrinin and somatostatin, which are released from hypothyalamus in response to physiological signals such as age, gender nutrition, excise, stress and sleep etc.
Application:
ELISA: In combination with capture antibody anti-hGH mAb clone YC6 (Cat.: MO-M40012A), this HRP conjugated antibody can be used in sandwich ELISA applications for hGH detection.
