Background:

Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) is the antigen binding, membrane bound a chain of major histocompatibility complex I (MHC1).  While the small b chain is the invariable beta 2 microglobulin, the a chain has three major isoforms (HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C) that are encoding by different loci on chromosome 6 and each of the isoforms has a highly variable region that resembles Fab on immunoglobulin.  The HLA-ABC antibody reacts with a common epitope shared by HLA-A, HLA-B and HLA-C.

Application:

Western Blot

Immuno-precipitation

Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

Immunofluorescence
