Research Area: Virology
Background:
P24 is the 24KDa, non-glycosylated protein that forms the Core (Capisid) of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and other Lentiviruses in the Retroviridiae family. P24 is expressed immediately after HIV infection and is detectable before host HIV antibody can be detected. Hence, HIV p24 is currently the target for early diagnosis of HIV acute infection.
Application:
ELISA: The antibody can be used as a detection antibody for detection of HIV-1 p24 in sandwich ELISA in combination with anti-HIV-1 p24 capture antibody mAb clone 340 (Cat. No. MO-I40002D2).
Western Blot: The antibody, when used at concentration of 0.1 to 1.0μg/mL, will allow visualization of 100ng/lane recombinant HIV-1 p24 on blot.
